About

The unity of the Jewish community across the world is central to the work I do. The diaspora needs to feel at one with the people of Israel.

Vladimir Slutsker

Dr. Vladimir Slutsker is a prominent contributor to efforts ensuring positive Israeli-European relations, as well as the wider global community.

His career in politics began when he became a Senator for the Russian Federation. While at this post, he curated relationships between religious groups and the government as well as endeavouring to shape national policy.

Both within and outside of Israel, Vladimir Slutsker works closely with organisations that support the Jewish community. His positive work is epitomised by the Israeli Jewish Congress, an organisation he co-founded and is president of. The focus of the Congress is firmly on the Diaspora in Europe and on relations between the Jewish state and Russian people. Previous Congresses Slutsker has been involved in include the Russian Jewish Congress, the European Jewish Congress and the European Friends of Israel.

Vladimir Slutsker is committed to giving the concerns of the Jewish Diaspora a voice. He actively rallies against anti-Semitism and racism across Europe, and works to promote the acceptance of Israel’s legitimacy for stronger relations with Europe.

Slutsker is based in Israel with his wife and three children. Before living in Israel he studied his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at the University of Moscow.
